History

D’URBAN - A menswear brand for metropolitan men who appreciate refined dressing in sophisticated simplicity, quiet elegance and modern minimalism. A wholesome presentation of an international outlook with hints of Italian up-date flavor, D’URBAN continues to evolve; serving man of style with apparel and accessories that resonates with his personality and lifestyle. D’URBAN came to the forefront of quality fashion menswear in 1970. Founded in Japan, was named after an escort in 1922. D’URBAN is inspired by the long-held traditions of prestigious tailoring in Europe. Dedicated development and research into the latest technology into colors, fabrics, designs and cutting have brought the brand to international prominence in the menswear arena. Today, the D’URBAN collection includes both sophisticated business and leisure wear.

D’URBAN was founded in Japan and was named after a military escort in 1922.

A new collection named "Monsoon" had been newly developed. The collection was named according to its lightweight and highly-ventilated features. It perfectly meets customers’ needs especially during summer time.

Re-launched in Fall/Winter 2005, D’URBAN was completely revamped in merchandising directions, store makeovers and image building initiatives. Above-the-line advertising campaign featuring world-class models created by famous photographer have successfully affirmed the image of the D’URBAN Man.

New strategy had been adopted to reposition the brand. Inspired by the long-held traditions of prestigious tailoring in Europe, D’URBAN focused on the fit for Asian men. Not only brought the brand to international prominence in the menswear arena, it also widens its penetration into the market of Greater China.

Celebrated 40 years of D’URBAN, International Japanese movie star Mr. Yutaka Takenouchi was appointed as the spokesperson for D’URBAN.

The collection "Lightest" had been exclusively launched. It’s the lightest suit in the world. From the fabric development to production are completely made in Japan. The weight of the suit has been reduced by 25% when comparing with the general suit.

The brand focused on the development of business casual collection. To rejuvenate the brand, D’URBAN appointed famous Asian model, Mr. Motoyasu Norimatsu as spokesperson.

D’URBAN is delighted to announce its participation in the J ∞ QUALITY campaign, which was initiated by the Japanese government to promote Made in Japan products. Not only reinforcing D’URBAN's quality, it also demonstrate the brand’s determination on pursuing the exquisiteness of craftsmanship.

Two remarkable moments of the brand will soon be happened in a row. That is the introduction of Personal Order Service to Hong Kong & Taiwan markets, and the celebration of "Monsoon" 20th anniversary.
